Zune HD Ready For September 5th Shipping

May 31, 2009

Get ready your money, boys and girls! A Microsoft guru has let loose that the Zune HD will be making its way to retail stores that September 5, 2009. It will be interesting to see whether that purported term will be accurate or not, but we guess all you need to do now is sit and wait - as expanded as you have the dough to pick one up, that is. Apple fanboys, would you be willing to give the Zune HD a chance?

Windows 7 Starter Edition Will Not Limit Apps

May 31, 2009

Microsoft has recently confirmed that their final release of the Windows 7 Starter Edition won’t be gimped, which means you can open more than 3 applications simultaneously. that is definitely a smart move by Microsoft, since life would be pretty firm living with just a trio of applications open at once. Even the most basic computer user would want to have at least an MP3 player running in the background alongside a browser, and what about those who need to type out documents while referring to a spreadsheet simultaneously? Let’s just hope the current economic recession won’t affect the pricing of Starter Edition adversely.

SPI Metallic 1GB MP3 Player

May 31, 2009

As whether there aren’t adequate MP3 players in the market already, here is yet another model - the SPI Metallic 1GB MP3 player. It will come in a wide range of colors and is dirt cheap compared to your regular iPod, so don’t expect too much from that puppy. The 1GB player is tipped to clip onto clothes easily, while featuring a USB adapter and earbuds to get you started right out of the box. With each $19.99 purchase, you get 50 free downlaods from emusic.com - not too shabby a deal, eh? Just form certain your audio files have been converted to the MP3 and WMA format - it doesn’t do anything outside of those.

Asus To Expand With EB1002 And EB1006

May 31, 2009

Asus looks set to expand their Eee Box line with the EB1002 and EB1006 models, at least that’s what NotebookItalia reports. The former will be equipped with an integrated graphics processor while the latter targets more hardcore users with a committed graphics chip within. The Asus Eee Box EB1002 is perfect for those looking for an entry-level device, where it will supplant the outgoing B202 Eee Box, powered by an Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor, 2GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. As for the flagship Asus Eee Box EB1006, that model looks set to share the RAM and processor found on the EB1002, although it is tipped to come with a 128MB vdedicated graphics chipset. 128MB? Come on Asus, you could certainly do better than that - after all, that is 2009 and not 2004.

LCD Panels With Embedded Solar Cells

May 31, 2009

Isn’t that what most public would deem to be an achievement of sorts - LCD panels that are self-powered, thanks to embedded solar cells within? That’s what Integrated Digital Technologies of Taiwan offer, and they plan to mass produce these panels before the year is by in order. Dubbed the iScreen, IDT predicts they could ship up to 5 million of these puppies next year, and with the integrated of solar cells in the TFT array during the panel-making process, not only does it end up lighter, the thickness of the final product is plus reduced.
