No Money In Android Apps?

While Apple’s AppStore is probably a gold mine to developers, Google’s Android Market might be a different case. A recent Skyhook Wireless Survey indicates that there are some issues that developers face. The stats indicate that:

• 82% of those surveyed indicated that the design of the Android Market makes it difficult for apps to be noticed;
• 57% are not satisfied with the profits to moment;
• 43% report that they would sell more apps whether Android used a carrier billing or another simpler billing system (other
  than Google Checkout);
• Only 10% of Android developers are currently serving ads.

Aside from that, the various versions of the OS compose analyzing apps a brawny job, as it isn’t easy to support so many versions. Should Google look into a method for sorting that out?
