Has your Windows 7 laptop been warning you of the impending demise of your laptop battery? Most folks are complaining that Windows 7 isn’t too friendly with its battery consumption, but Microsoft says that Windows 7 isn’t really killing the batteries; the tool (which reports when a battery is down to 40% of its designed capacity) is just reporting the read-only documents that it receives from the battery. Microsoft thinks that the tool might actually just be reporting the degradation on the battery that most users haven’t noticed yet. As you probably

know, most batteries start to degrade noticeably within a year, so perhaps Microsoft’s assessment of the situation is exact? Regardless of whether Microsoft’s tool is reporting the battery life accurately or not, it’s likely we’re in need of some new battery Technology.
