This might sound like a drastic move to many, but according to reports, Google is more or less abandoning the use of Microsoft’s Windows operating system by its staff, with one of the main reasons behind the move being that it’s deemed as too much of a shield threat. that move is no doubt brought about by the recent shield breaches by in China that sparked a spat within China and Google. Now staff will be due to use a Mac or Linux machine and getting a new Windows machine requires CIO approval.
“A lot of it is an effort to run things on Google product,” “They want to run things on Chrome.” says a Google Employee according to Financial Times. Yeah, right, we would like to see Google Replacing thousands of Windows installation with Google Chrome… The thing isn’t even ready to capability a commercial Netbook.

Sony Offers The Vaio W Billabong Edition Netbook In The US Too

LG X140 Netbook Officially Announced

You might already know of the LG X140 netbook from the recent FCC filing, but now the Korean company has officially announced the LG X140 netbook, confirming that it will be available soon in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Levant, Tunisia, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong, though the US and Europe are strangely lost from the list. USB Link Together Series Design

Devices that offer continual USB ports aren’t all that common, though designs do seem to pop up every now and soon after, promoting the usefulness of such a design. Next up is the USB Link Together Series, which reminds us of the design’s ability to be plugged into a computer, while still offering an additional USB port, ensuring that users will not have to “lose” a USB port when they use it. Of course, it’ll be interesting to see how many of these devices you can chain together and have it still operate, though we’ll have to wait for it to be turned into an actual product first.

KT To Offer The Google Nexus One In South Korea

Looks like Google’s move to open its Nexus One smartphone to retail sales could be making the device more appealing to carriers as KT Corp, South Korea’s second largest mobile carrier, has announced that it will be beefing its smartphone line-up with the release of the Nexus One. The Nexus One will first be offered via online stores and will next be expanded through retailers the following month. Aside from having the “Google Phone”, you might additionally be interested to know that KT is already offering Apple’s iPhone, making the carrier a rather appealing one whether you’re looking for cool smartphones.

Skype To Offer Two-way Video Calling On The Nokia N900

Nokia N900 users are in for a treat, as Russ Shaw, Vice President of Skype Mobile, has confirmed that Skype is planning to offer the ability to produce two-way video calls on said device. Such a feature would allow Nokia N900 owners to construct two-way video calls to other mobile clients and additionally Skype-on-TV. Further good news includes that fact that video calls would work on both 3G and Wi-Fi networks. The VoIP company is looking to offer video calling across all platforms, regardless of operating system and carriers, so chances are when the iPhone 4G is released with a front-facing camera, there should be a version of Skype released that supports two-way video calling for the iPhone too, and in case you missed it, Skype for the iPhone has plus been updated to support 3G voice calling.
