Century offers the Tribe USB 3.0 portable drive dock

Century’s upcoming device, the Tribe, is a USB 3.0 portable drive dock which will take advantage of the blazing speeds in which the USB 3.0 standard offers. It is plus rather tiny in terms of size, sharing roughly the dimensions of a standard mouse. Interestingly abundant, there is plus no need for a potential supply since USB 3.0 bus potential is able to offer more than sufficient juice at 900mA, letting it handle even the largest 2.5″ SATA drives without a hitch. that makes it all the more portable since all you need would be a standard microUSB 3.0 cable to handle it. Century’s USB 3.0 dock will plus be able to offer remote drive imaging, secure wiping and serious anti-virus sweeps when the situation calls for it. No concept on whether it will manufacture its way Stateside yet since it is on sale on the Japanese online store for the equivalent of $50 at point of publishing.

Boy climbs walls with vacuum cleaners

Hibiki Kono who is just 13 and hails from King’s College School, Cambridge, decided that getting a radioactive spider to bite him isn’t as easy as it sounds, decided to literally take things into his own hands when it comes to climbing walls - with a little help from Tesco, of course, where he uses vacuum cleaners to manufacture his way across walls. Nozzles and suction pads were attached to said vacuum cleaners to help him clamber across walls, giving us hope that school isn’t that boring and neither does it kill off any budding ideas or bright talent.

Sceptre introduces affordable LED HDTVs

Sceptre knows that times are still pretty hard economically for most of us, which is why it has rolled out a new range of affordable LED HDTVs that come in the mold of 19″ and 24″ models, where both of them will plus boast an integrated DVD player (to keep the costs down we suppose, since throwing in a Blu-ray player might just place it out of reach for most folks). Measuring 0.69″ at their thinnest point, it ought to find a place in any living room, and being Energy Star 3.0-compliant should help you save some money due to better ability efficiency that results in lower electricity bills when compared to older TVs that weren’t too environmentally conscious. Full HD resolution is supported, alongside a couple of HDMI ports, a 16:9 widescreen display and a 5ms response instance to cater to budget-conscious customers that July onwards. The 19″ and 24″ models will retail for $269 and $399, respectively.

Reverse Vending Machine gives you cash

Most vending machines that we know of prefer to swallow your cash in exchange for a can of soda or some candy, but the Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) here clearly lives up to its name - it will take in recyclable bottles and cans while handing out cash in return. Recently introduced at the Centro Hollywood shopping mall in Adelaide, South Australia, it is clearly a positive effort where promoting recycling and the reduction of littering are concerned. All you need to do is place your empty bottles or cans at the machine’s feed unit, where a built-in camera will identify individual containers and compact them whether accepted. All compacted material will be sent straight to a recycling depot, and each container will net you 10 cents in the anatomy of a receipt which can be exchanged for currency later on by scanning it into an adjacent cash machine.

HTC HD2 runs on Android 2.1!

Take a look at that - we’re talking about a HTC HD2 which supposedly runs on Windows Mobile, but that instance it has Android 2.1 running on it - sort of. Boasting a custom boot animation known as XDAndroid, the port is far from complete although in its current design, it looks pretty polished. whether you watch the video above, Android crashes, where you will next see Ubuntu running on the HD2. The mouse pointer plus takes a whole lot of cajoling to have it hit the unmistaken spot, which will most probably frustrate most humans out there. In the meantime, those who want a solid Windows Mobile experience will just have to wait it out - at least until Windows Phone 7 hits the scene.

Fujitsu Lifebook TH700 appears on online store

Fujitsu seems to have silently revealed the Lifebook TH700 by at their online store, where that entry-level tablet computer will retail for $1,099 after a mail-in rebate. that is cheaper than other Fujitsu offerings, but it is surely still nearly double the price of an average working class notebook out there. That’s the price to pay whether you want a tablet-style hybrid device, but you do get some extras such as a sturdy flip latch, a modular bay for a second battery or drive, a removable dust filter and a hard drive shock sensor to invent certain your documents within remains safe and sound just in case of knocks and drops. Inside, you will find a dual digitizer, fingerprint scanner, HDMI port, Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n connectivity and a webcam with dual microphones. Underneath the hood, you are limited to a pretty static configuration of an Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive and Intel HD graphics chipset.

Kindle Previewer for HTML 5 announced

Amazon has just announced Kindle Previewer for HTML 5, where it will allow you to sample Kindle books from just about anywhere. With that, Kindle book previews will be available through your web browser where all you need to do is visit a Preview button on an Amazon book detail page, where a new browser window will automatically open, boasting contents of the preview within for you to peruse through. whether reading through the preview makes your hand reach for your wallet, you can just visit the buy button where it will soon after be downloaded to your Kindle or any one of their free Kindle apps which is available across various platforms. Amazon seems to move forward to making profit off their books rather than concentrate on the Kindle hardware alone, which is a good thing since the combined mass market device userbase is far larger, so it makes sense to compose a profit via volume.
