The entry level phone isn’t anything to shout about, but it looks like it will be geared towards entry level users looking for an Android phone to start off with – the folks who don’t need a high-end device like the ThunderBolt but are interested in dipping their toes into smartphone world. The Samsung Gem packs an 800MHz processor, a 3.2″ touchscreen display, 124MB of internal storage (microSD slot for expandable storage), a 3.2 megapixel camera and runs on Android 2.1. The Samsung Gem website was recently updated with the Verizon logo, so it shouldn’t be too faraway before it goes up for sale.
