It makes more sense for Nintendo to put its full force behind the lagging Nintendo 3DS.

Each game has sold by one million copies in the U.S. Why keep pushing a system that’s by five-years-old when it can’t even play DSiWare games, play music, lacks cameras and mini apps? In addition to the DS Lite price cut, Nintendo is additionally re-releasing six classic DS Mario games with special red boxes to manufacture it easier for customers to identify in the game aisle.
The new red-packaged games are: Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Party DS, Mario & Donkey Kong: Miniland Mayhem, Super Mario 64 DS and Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. The DSi’s price remains unchanged at $149.99 and the DSi XL at $169.99.

and as such, are quality-gems – most of which I can attest to.
While it does not seem Nintendo is discontinuing the DS Lite just yet as GameStop alluded to earlier, it does beg the question of where the company’s priorities are.
