Grand Turismo rendered in 3840x2160 (4K) resolution

To celebrate the 10 years of Gran Turismo, the team that developed the game (Polyphony) added some tiled rendering cipher to get four PS3s to render the game in 3840×2160. It’s a classic way to scale resolution up, and as you can imagine, the sharpness was amazing. Of course, you need the right projector for the job: in that instance, the SRX-110, which costs north of $80,000 the last duration I checked (and I don’t check every week).

Apple Patent for Always-On Displays. Would It Use E-Ink?

Apple has filed a patent that would allow it to have an always on display. By that we mean that when the normal LCD display shuts off, a second, low-power, layer would take by to display basic data (time, newsletter received, battery life…). You produce out a lot about pocket-size projectors, but don’t see a lot of companies selling them or society buying them. Suddenly, however, a projector from Optoma called the Optoma pocket projector PK 101 has arrived and is actually for sale on, of all places, the Apple Store web site for Japan. A number of employers have started a class action against Microsoft, arguing that their employees spend amoung 30mn to 60mn a day in the Windows boot sequence. The attacking party includes AT&T or Cigna.
