Our Pledge

  • Diversify our teams: We aim to create more diverse staff and freelance teams. By mid-2024, we commit to having 20% of our extended team composed of BIPOC editors, writers, reviewers, and other creative professionals.
  • Educate ourselves: We’ll continue learning about the challenges and experiences of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other communities. This knowledge will inform both our workplace practices and our content. We pledge to complete editorial training on preventing bias in our writing and editing.
  • Audit existing content: Given the evergreen nature of most of our content, it’s crucial to review our existing library.
  • Highlight technology challenges: We’ll better organize our content around the digital divide and other tech issues facing BIPOC communities.
  • Showcase BIPOC voices: We’ll continue to feature BIPOC creatives and technology businesses, amplifying their stories and work while raising awareness about technology challenges in our society.

This is just the beginning. We expect our goals to evolve and expand as we educate ourselves and diversify our team.

Accountability is key to progress. We promise full transparency and will provide detailed quarterly updates on the status of our goals. You’ll find these updates below.

We welcome your input. If you have additional ideas on how we can improve, please email us at feedback@techgeer.com.

Sincerely,

The TechGeer Editorial Team
